As some know there is a debate going on about whether Christian hip hop should be accepted in the church. It seems as if you label yourself Christian Rap you are ok, but hip hop, you are not, now I already know where hip hop originates and about the people who started it. But I am really confused about what is and what is not ok, in the church, in regards to rap/hip hop period. You have some people who label themselves everything. If calling your self a Christian, is already supposed to set yourself apart from the secular side, what is the problem. I dunno?

I agree, some people are afraid of change, so they lash out on the younger generation who seems to do things with more freedom than they would have in the past. But the problem people fail to realize is that we as Christians seem to continue to put GOD in a box. Who are we to say that hip hop wasn't sent here by GOD to save souls, if the message behind the lyrics is representing his name, than justice has been done. Hip Hop vs Rap is a good separation because there is a message behind hip hop, rap on the other hand is just entertainment which is what we are hearing on the radio at the present time. IF you notice the people that are truly speaking life into the world, never seem to get the exposure that someone killing or society will. But CLE is getting ready to explode globally get ready because were major!

The church that fails to embrace a culture so profound as the hip hop culture fails to follow Christ's own mission. Christ gave each person talents and abilities, and as Christians we should use those abilities to reach the lost, in the end thats our sole mission. I think the church needs a wakeup call from this slumber its found itself in, instead of being like Christ our church leaders are debating what is and isn't allowed in the church. Christ never did that, he was open to everyone and responded accordingly. I've always struggled having my voice heard in the church because of what I listen to or what I am, and it caused my fall from faith. But now I've realized not to let the haters control who I am, look at CLE, Christ is doing amazing things in this industry and thats what it is, religion can't change a thing. Someone once asked me, in a joking matter to what I thought, what kind of music God would listen to. My answer, simple, anything that glorifies Him. As long as we glorify God then how are we wrong.
